What Are You Made Of?

Psalm 46:4-6: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. Wow!  Did you read that?   “God is within her, she will not fall!” TD Jakes said it best. “O woman of God, your life is filled with challenges and victories, smiles and tears. You are a careful blend of life’s many spices. Your personality is made up of so many different things, years of knowing you will not reveal everything that makes you who you are.” (Jakes 2003) Please know that God’s will and purpose for your life is deliberate. God carefully crafted every detail of your life. Nothing about you is a mistake. We all are experiencing or have experienced situations that we thought would take our very lives. Nights of crying and praying for a solution to seemingly endless battles. I’ve found myself asking God why did this happen to me or what did I do to deserve such a raw deal. Funny thing is…God answered me. By asking the questions, I catapulted myself right into His presence and he was actually standing there waiting on me! Remember in Genesis how God visited Adam in the cool of the evening, just to find out where his mind was and what was going on with him. God is concerned about us in that way as well. Our feelings matter to God. Issues that concern us, concern God too! It’s amazing how coming to the end of yourself and becoming totally dependent on God allows him to move freely in your life. As you observe this Good Friday (Preparation Day of the Passover), remember it’s about more than having a day off from work or trying to find a cute dress for Easter.  It’s about Jesus! On that hill called Golgotha, he was crucified. They hung him high and stretched him wide and when Jesus knew scripture had been fulfilled, he said, “It is finished!” Every battle, every struggle, every issue that we find ourselves dealing with has been finished. Look at the end result and follow the trail back to the beginning. Jesus at the end, Jesus at the beginning and Jesus all along the way!  Thank God for Jesus! Much Love, Mrs. Misenheimer
