Gentleness

1 Samuel 18:1-4 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic and even his sword, his bow and his belt. The story of Jonathan and David is a close relationship with that of Christ and His chosen people. Jonathan, the son of a king, dressed in his royal robe and tunic took off his glory and dressed David in it. In the same token, Jesus deposited a piece of himself in all of us! A piece of his glory! We have the opportunity to put on the full armor of God everday! We may have friends or family that we wish could see the destiny that God has been preparing for them. We wish they could see their potential for greatness. We may want them to be ready to take hold of their future but God knows better than we do. He knows when the cutting and priming, the molding and shaping can come to an end. He alone is God, all by himself! In 1 Samuel, we learn that Samuel had anointed David to become King. In other words, David had been rooted and established as King. The people we try to assist in reaching their potential, may not be ready or willing to accept our help. Just because we see their potential doesn't mean that they are ready to walk in it. In the meantime, we have to remain kind and keep encouraging them. What we think are helpful words may cause more harm to them than good, If they are not ready to receive. Be kind and remember to walk in love! Much Love, Mrs. Misenheimer
