Positioned for Peace
4. Gather Evidence
In the world of Change Management, the third step of the process is to show that you have the knowledge on how to bring out about positive change. This is particularly necessary for Peacemakers because of high emotions during times of unrest and turmoil. The best way to show that you have the necessary knowledge to implement change is to gather evidence. You and your tribe will need to immerse yourselves completely in the issues to get to the root of the conflict. 2 Ways to Gather Evidence:
Conduct interviews with those who are directly involved in the issues. Get a first-hand account of how they are affected by the crisis. Seek to understand the challenges they are directly facing.
Use observation to study the issues. Pay attention to all involved parties and the part each one playsThe Benefits of Gathering Evidence: Gathering evidence provides the foundation to create a workable action plan toward peace. You also have the opportunity to examine conditions before making commitments. "Balancing optimism and realism, intuition and planning, faith and fact can be very difficult. But that's what it takes to be effective as a navigating leader."
